The Elder Basketball team was recently named the National Guard/JJ Huddle Team of the Week. The team also improved to 10-0 on the season with a 76-52 win over Roger Bacon. Congratulations, gentlemen!

The Elder Basketball Program will hold its Annual Grade School Night at the Pit on Saturday, December 20 as the Panthers take on Walnut Hills High School. All students in grades K-8 wearing their team uniform or other school spirit wear will be admitted FREE OF CHARGE to the game. There will be giveaways, contests, student participation and other fun activities throughout the night.  After the game the players from the Elder Varsity Basketball team will be available for autographs. Spread the word and don't miss this opportunity to see one of the finest basketball programs in the state of Ohio in action for FREE!  Game times are Freshmen -  4:30pm, JV - 6:00pm and Varsity 7:30pm.

Join us this weekend as we celebrate the 10th Annual Holiday on the Hill.  The festivities kick off Friday evening with the officially lighting of the tree.  Light the Hill begins Friday, December 5th at 6 p.m. on Seton’s front lawn. Cincinnati Police Chief Jeffrey Blackwell will switch the light to illuminate the tree and afterward MyCincinnati music students will perform a concert.  Click here to read a recent article about this annual event.

Saturday begins with music and an arts and crafts sale at 10:30 a.m. in Elder High School’s Schaeper Center.  Several school and church groups will perform and a wide variety of artists and crafters will have works for sale.

The Elder Basketball team won the 2014 Ft. Lauderdale Beach Holiday Classic with a 65-62 win over host school Westminster Academy.  Brad Miller was named the tournament MVP and Frankie Hofmeyer was named to the all-tournament team.  Elder returns to The Pit this Saturday to face Roger Bacon at 7:30.  Congratulations to Coach Schoenfeld and all members of the team!
During this Christmas season, Elder's Support the Troops Club shipped care packages to grads who are currently serving on active duty in the military both overseas and abroad.  Care packages included snacks, Elder goodies, books on CD, and more!  Merry Christmas to our troops - you make us proud! 

The Elder Art department won first place in the Holiday on the Hill Window Painting contest for the second year in a row.  The window is located at Warsaw Federal on Warsaw Avenue.  The students who painted the window are: Jacob Bono, Evan Erpenbeck, Julian Gregory, Patrick Morris, Ryne Poli, Jerry Porter, Cody Roseberry, Colin Rodenberg, and Collin Schwiers.  Congratulations, gentlemen!

Congratulations to Ross Mullen, Sam Middendorf and Jack Streicher!  These Elder Lacrosse players were named to Brine National Lacrosse Ohio Pride Games.  They will play at the Pride of Ohio Games on June 7, 2015 at Ohio Wesleyan University.  Click here to read more.

Elder honored the 1960-61 Basketball team during their season opening game on December 9th.  The 1961 squad was the first Elder basketball team to go undefeated during the regular season and the first Elder basketball team to be rated No. 1 in the state of Ohio.  

Four members of the 1961 team, Tom Apke, Tom Biedenharn, Fritz Meyer and Steve Tensi, are still members of the top 50 all-time career scorers in Elder history.  The team’s head coach, Ray Dieringer was named the Ohio high school basketball coach of the year.  Dieringer will serve as honorary Captain of the Elder team for this season’s opening game.  The players and coaches were introduced at halftime.
