One of the most controversial topics in the United States is abortion. As His Holiness Pope Francis once said, “The right to life is the first among human rights.” This year, the Elder High School Pro-Life Club launched their first ever campaign: the Baby Bottle Campaign. By simply donating and putting their spare change in a baby bottle every morning in homeroom, the faculty, staff, and students of Elder High School raised over $1,000 to help benefit Pregnancy Center West.
This organization aids women who find themselves dealing with an unplanned pregnancy. Their services include prenatal healthcare through Healthy Beginnings, material assistance, parenting classes, post-abortion grief recovery, and peer support through the Eve Center. Pregnancy Center West is located in the Elder High School/Price Hill area, which is why the clinic was chosen to benefit from this campaign. At Elder High School, we have a motto: Altiora, strive for the higher things. Through the Baby Bottle Campaign and the generous donations from the Elder High School faculty, staff, and students, we continue to strive to make a change in our community. We made a real change by donating our change.
