Class of 2011 Joins the Ranks of Elder Alums
The 89th Elder High School Commencement Ceremonies took place on Tuesday, May 31st at the Jean Patrice Harrington Student Center on the campus of Mount Saint Joseph.
Brian P. Kelley '79 was the keynote speaker at this year's graduation. After graduating from Elder in 1979, Brian earned a BA in Economics from Holy Cross. Kelley is currently the President and General Manager of Still Beverages and Supply Chain for Coca-Cola North America. Click here to read more about Mr. Kelley.

On Monday, May 30th the Baccalaureate Mass was held at St. Theresa Church. Awards were also distributed to honor the many accomplishments of the class of 2010.
We are proud to announce this year's Valedictorian is Nicholas Joseph Lehan and the 2011 Salutatorian is Joshua Donald Rieskamp.

Five students were given awards of distinction to honor their accomplishments and their contributions to the Elder Community. These award winners are:
Archbishop Elder Memorial Award (Elder's Highest Honor):
To the Student who best exemplifies the type of graduate Elder aims to develop.

Leadership Award:
To the Student who was outstanding in his positive leadership at Elder.

Christian Life Award:
To the Student who, by his actions, has lived the principles that Jesus taught and to which all of us are called.

To the Student who was outstanding in the use of his talents both in class and in extra-curricular activities.

• Mario Jansen has been accepted to University of Cincinnati and Miami University – he will attend University of Cincinnati.
• Andrew Martini has been accepted to University of Dayton, Butler University, Xavier University, Bellarmine University, and University of Cincinnati – he will attend Xavier University.
• Nicholas Beiler has been accepted to Xavier University, University of Cincinnati, and The Ohio State University – he will attend University of Cincinnati.
• Ryan Welch has been accepted to University of Cincinnati and The Ohio State University – he will attend the University of Cincinnati as a Linder Honors –Plus Scholar.
• Keith Burns has been accepted to Case Western Reserve University, The Ohio State University, Miami University, and University of Dayton – he will attend The Ohio State University.
• Andrew Burkhart has been accepted to University of Cincinnati, Ohio University, Centre College, and Butler University – he will attend Ohio University.
• Timothy Cappel has been accepted to Miami University, The Ohio State University, Thomas More College, University of Dayton, and University of Cincinnati – he will attend The Ohio State University.
• Bradley DePaoli has been accepted to University of Cincinnati, Centre College, Carnegie Mellon University, Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology, Case Western Reserve University, and Miami University – he will be attending Centre College.
• This year’s salutatorian is Joshua Rieskamp has been accepted to Sewanee University, Xavier University, University of Richmond, University of Notre Dame, University of Evansville, Centre College, Miami University, and University of Dayton - he will attend the Centre College.
• This year’s valedictorian is Nicholas Lehan has been accepted to University of Cincinnati, Xavier University, Miami University, and The Ohio State University – he will attend Xavier University.
