Placement Test
Test Details
Incoming freshman students interested in attending Elder High School must take the High School Placement Test (HSPT).
The exam will be offered at Elder on November 19, 2011 for a $30.00 fee. Fee must be paid prior to the day of the exam. Contact Maureen Regan in the Admissions Office to register at 921-3744.
(In extenuating circumstances, a make-up exam may be offered. Contact Maureen Regan in the Admissions Office to register for the make-up.)
Students can take the test at any high school in which they can enroll and have the option of sending their results to three different schools.
Test time is 8:00 AM until 11:30 AM. Remember to bring two (2) number two pencils and the use of calculators is not permitted during testing. A snack will be provided during the exam.
To be eligible for scholarships at Elder, admission to the Elder High School Honors Program, and admission to Elder High School itself,prospective students completing the exam at another high school must indicate at the time of testing that they would like their results shared with Elder High School.

Requesting test accommodations: Students with an ISP or IEP requesting accommodations on the placement test must submit the required documention by November 4. The placement test can be taken with accommodations at Elder only if all required documention is received by the Admissions Office by 3:45pm on Nov. 4 and written approval is received from the Elder Guidance Department prior to test day.
