Elder Community Celebrates Grand Opening of Jack Adam '57 Baseball Stadium At Butch Hubert Family Panther Athletic Complex
Play ball! The grand opening ceremony for the Jack Adam Baseball Stadium at the Butch Hubert Family Panther Athletic Complex was held April 19, 2014, prior to the Elder vs. Turpin double-header.
The ceremony featured an unveiling of the Jack Adam Baseball Stadium plaque; Elder’s Vocal Ensemble performed the National Anthem, and Mr. Jack Adam '57 threw the ceremonial first pitch.
The Jack Adam Baseball Stadium is the final piece to the original Panther Athletic Complex plan. The 500 seat state-of-the-art baseball stadium will include three seating sections, bathrooms and a press box.
This is the final piece of the 2003 master plan according to original Panther Athletic Complex trustee and 1971 Elder alumnus Jim Daffin. Jim was instrumental, along with the other trustees, in getting the baseball field built and now he says, “This stadium is like putting a diamond in the ring setting. It will make Elder more competitive across the city. Who wouldn’t want to come and play baseball here?”
