Walk for Others

The History of the Walk
Since 1973, the students and faculty of Elder have taken to the streets for their annual Walk. While the name may have changed from Walk for Elder to Walk for Others and the miles walked from 20 to twelve, the purpose has always remained the same. 75% of the money raised is applied to Elder’s tuition assistance program, while the other 25% goes to local charities. Some of the charities who have benefitted are: Miracle League Adapted Baseball, Our Daily Bread, Santa Maria, Bethany House, Project El-Moe, Price Hill Will, Tender Mercies, Imago, Women’s Connection and several local food pantries.
This year's "Walk for Others" was held on Monday, October 17th, 2011.
This year's Walk for Others raise more than $73,000 with 75% of the proceeds going toward tuition assistance and 25% donated to local charities.
All students are expected to participate and collect a minimum of $30 in pledges. Prizes are given to students from each grade who secure the largest amount of money.
