Shadow Program

Choosing the right high school can be a challenging process. Shadowing allows a young man to go directly to the heart of the high school experience: spending a day on campus and in our classrooms. The Shadow Program provides an opportunity for prospective students to ask questions of our students and teachers, to sample the ambiance of the school, and to determine if Elder is a place where he will personally be comfortable.

Program Details:

  • Guests may shadow any day of the week. October 28 and November 18 are filled. We have no visitation November 23-30 or after December 21. Visits should be scheduled at least one week in advance. In an effort to ensure the optimal shadow experience, Elder can only accommodate  fifteen students on any given day.
  • Reservations are on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • Visiting students can request which Elder student they'd like to shadow.
  • Visiting students should arrive and check in at 7:45 A.M. in the Main Hallway, entering through the doors opposite the football stadium.
  • If shadowing on a Friday, guests may wear an Elder t-shirt or another appropriate purple shirt,  jeans and gym shoes.  On other days, any type of dress trouser and collared shirt may be worn with dress shoes or gym shoes.
  • A lunch voucher, good for up to $5.00, will be provided.
  • Students shadowing may bring phones, however they may not be used during the school day. Other electronic devices are not permitted.
  • Shadow guests are encouraged to bring a book or magazine with them.
  • The day concludes at 2:30 P.M.
  • Students may be picked up and dropped off at the same location.

To schedule a shadow day, parents should contact Maureen Regan in the Admissions Office at 513-921-3744 or regan.m@elderhs.org.
