Semester Exams and Late Arrival/Early Dismissal Permission Form
The exam schedule will take on a different look this year as exams will be administered to all students over the course of four days (used to be three days), Tuesday through Friday, January 10th-13th. We will be on special schedules all four of these days (see link below).
Another change this year is the possibility that some students may be exempt from these exams, as they have in past with their final year-end exams. Those students who are currently taking a 1st semester only course may be exempt from their exam at the discretion of their teacher, as long as the students have earned at least an 85% average for the semester.
The 1st period exam will take place on Tuesday, January 10th, followed by regular classes for periods 2-7 (schedule #30). Two exam periods per day are scheduled for Wednesday, Thursday, & Friday, January 11th-13th (schedule #31 all three days). Students taking the exams must be present and on time for both the exam study period and exam.
Students exempt from an exam or who have a scheduled study hall during periods 1, 2, 4, or 6 may have late arrival and not have to report to homeroom that day (see link below).
Students exempt from an exam or who have a scheduled study hall during periods 3, 5, or 7 may have early dismissal (see link below).
No student may leave Elder’s campus and then return for an exam. Scheduled study halls will be in session on these days and students are expected to be in study hall unless the late arrival/early dismissal form below is completed and returned to the main office. Students are expected to be in uniform during exams. Lunches will be served on exam days.
In the event of a snow day, exams will be delayed one day (i.e. if a snow day occurs Wednesday, the Wednesday exams will be given Thursday and all other exams will be moved up one day). In the event of a delay, all exams will be held, but on a delayed schedule.
