Elder High School is committed to minimizing the spread of COVID-19 as sporting events return to our campus and athletic facilities during the 2020-2021 school year. All athletes, coaches, volunteers, staff, employees, venues, affiliated teams and schools, and spectators are asked to adhere to the guidelines set forth on this page. We thank you in advance for your patience and support as we follow the mandates set forth by the Ohio Department of Health and the Ohio High School Athletic Association.

General Health & Safety

Before attending any sporting event on the campus of Elder High School or at any of the school's athletic facilities, sports athletes, coaches, volunteers, staff, employees, venues, affiliated teams and schools, and spectators (collectively, "Sports Participants") shall abide by the following:
  • Conduct daily symptom assessments.
  • Anyone experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 must stay home. The CDC maintains an updated list of symptoms on its website. Click here to review the list.
  • There must be no congregating before, during, or after practices or games.
  • Family and household members should sit together socially-distanced from other individuals/family/household groups.
  • Six-feet social distancing must be maintained between individuals/family/household groups.
  • Spectators must wear face coverings at all times except for one of the reasons stated in the Director's Order for Facial Coverings throughout the State of Ohio, signed July 23, 2020, or as it may thereafter be amended.
  • Coaches, athletic trainers, volunteers, and officials must wear facial coverings at all times, and athletes must wear face coverings when not on the field or court of play, except for one of the reasons stated in the Director's Order for Facial Coverings throughout the State of Ohio, signed July 23, 2020, or as it may thereafter be amended.
Additional Guidelines
  • Tailgating is prohibited.
  • No outside food or drink may be brought into the facility by spectators.
  • Bottled drinks and limited pre-packaged food items will be available for purchase at concession stands.
  • No re-entry.
  • Any spectator without a mask or that does not cooperate will be asked to leave the stadium.
  • Game hosts will be assisting with social distancing and with mask protocols.

Soccer

Elder plays its home soccer matches at the Panther Athletic Complex (1915 Quebec Rd., Cincinnati, OH 45205). This facility is located approximately one mile from Elder's main school campus.

Tickets sales are limited to two (2) immediate family or household members per rostered player. Tickets will be sold at the gate. All tickets cost $6.00 each.

Gates will open for spectator admission 30 minutes prior to the scheduled kick off.

Security is provided by the Cincinnati Police Department.

For Visiting Teams:
  • Elder will wear its home purple uniforms unless notified otherwise.
  • Team rosters should be emailed to Elder's athletic director, Mr. Kevin Espelage, as far in advance as possible - espelagekj@elderhs.net.
  • Athletic trainers should email Elder's athletic trainer, Mr. Nathan Herdeman, to coordinate any special needs - herdemannt@elderhs.net.
  • Athletes/Team can be dropped off at the entrance gate nearest the soccer stadium.
  • Team buses will be directed to a reserved parking spot. If athletes drive themselves, then they will be directed to the Auxiliary Lot on Westmont Ave. (see "Parking" below).
  • Coach should confirm with Elder's site manager or head coach that all visiting athletes have completed the COVID-19 pre-screening questions and that no athletes are exhibiting any symptoms of the virus.
  • Athletes should arrive dressed to compete. Locker rooms are not available.
  • Athletes should bring their own water bottles. A team representative should coordinate water bottle refill procedures with Site Manager.
  • Warm-ups shall take place on the North side of the field (opposite the scoreboard).
  • If athletes are forced to leave the field due to inclement weather, they will be escorted to the lower-level garage.
  • Limited space is available in our press box for team filming. Please email Mr. Kevin Espelage to coordinate broadcast crews and internet requirements.
For All Spectators:
  • Able-bodied spectators are asked to sit in the bleachers: visiting spectators on the far side (away from the scoreboard); home spectators on the near side (nearest the scoreboard).
  • Please sit in every other row while observing six-feet social distancing between individuals/family/household groups.
  • Those spectators physically unable to descend/ascend stairs to/from the bleachers may bring their own chairs and sit on the concourse near the concession stand. Six-feet social distancing between individuals/family/household groups is required.
  • Standing Room Only areas will be designated on the track surrounding the soccer field and put into use at the sole discretion of the Site Manager.
Parking:
  • Three lots are available: Lower Lot (near baseball stadium); Upper Lot (near soccer stadium); Auxiliary Lot (on Westmont Ave.).
  • A limited number of handicap parking spaces are available on a first come, first served basis in the Upper Lot.
  • A uniformed Cincinnati Police Officer will assist with traffic flow and parking.
  • Tailgating is prohibited.
