List of 10 items.

  • Tom & Bonnie Otten Elder Alumni Family Picnic

What a fun evening it is with family and friends of Elder High School as Stricker's Grove plays host for this always enjoyable event! Usually held in early August, hundreds of grads will gather with families and friends to enjoy a picnic, amusement park rides, live entertainment by the Seton/Elder Steel Drum Band and the Elder Glee Club, and more! Admission is just $5.00/person or $10.00/family. Free ice cream tickets for the kids!

Affordable burgers and dogs available for purchase. Coolers and picnic baskets welcome, but alcoholic beverages may not be brought into the park. Stricker's Grove sells beer, soft drinks, and other items at its concession stand.
  • Purple & White Senior Alumni Mass & Dinner

Formerly known as our "Over 50" event, Elder alumni who graduated 50-or-more years ago are invited to celebrate together in late summer/early fall. Invitations are mailed in advance to eligible grads. Reservations required. Click here to update your contact information.
  • Elder Family Walk

This 5K walk through “Elder Country” is a fundraiser for Elder's general scholarship fund. And just like our students’ annual Walk for Others held each fall, the Elder Family Walk continues the tradition of also benefiting local charities such as Santa Maria Community Services, the Price Hill Historical Society, Price Hill Will, Holy Family Food Pantry, Pregnancy Center West, and more. Following the walk, participants are treated to a Picnic in the Pit where good food is served up hot off the grill and kids can run and play on the field.
  • EBA Career Day for Students

Started in 1997 and sponsored by the Elder Businessmen's Association, Career Day for Students takes place during Catholic Schools Week in early winter. Over 70 presenters from many different career fields are on hand to answer questions of the juniors and seniors, while freshmen and sophomores attend a special career panel presentation.

Please contact event chairman Luke Busam '00 at lbusam@fbtlaw.com or 513-651-6157 with any questions or if you have interest in presenting.
  • Elder Sports Stag

The Elder Alumni Sports Stag is one of the longest running high school stags in the country. Started in 1977, hundreds of Elder alumni annually descend upon Elder's campus for an evening of camaraderie with good friends, former classmates, and other supporters of Elder.

Tickets for the event usually go on sale two months in advance, and attendees can choose between general admission and VIP/Patron admission, which includes access to a private Principal's Reception with the featured speaker, special guests, and other dignitaries. All tickets include admission, a reception, drinks, dinner, program, and social. Must be at least 21-years-old to attend.
  • Alumni Awards

The Alumni Association annually recognizes graduates and active supporters of the school through the presentation of five alumni awards:
    • Christian Leadership Award
    • Spirit Award
    • Athletic Excellence Award
    • Professional Distinction Award
    • Cultural Enrichment Award
These awards are presented each spring at a ceremony held in the Rev. Jerome A. Schaeper Center on Elder's campus. The ceremony is open to the public, but RSVPs are required in advance. Click here to learn more about the Alumni Awards and past recipients. (Link coming soon!)
  • Grandparent/Grandson Mass and Brunch

Grandfathers and Grandmothers alike, along with their young future Panthers, celebrate Mass together before enjoying a tasty brunch in the school cafeteria. Prior to Mass, attendees can sift through old yearbooks in our Library to find pictures of themselves, friends, and relatives. After brunch, feel free to tour campus, visit classrooms, science labs, and performing arts facilities, as well as run on the football field, buy something purple from our Spirit Shop, and more! Now held in the spring. Advanced reservations required.
  • Elder Alumni Softball League

What a great way to spend the spring and summer...swinging for the fences alongside fellow Elder grads and friends. Started in 1981 and going strong ever since, teams battle for alumni supremacy throughout the regular season and again during our one-pitch tournament in late-July. Team registrations accepted through late-March with Opening Day in mid-April. For more information, email Joe Lind '04 or call him at 513-265-8233. Play ball!
  • Elder Businessmen's Golf Outing

The Annual EBA Golf Outing has been teeing off in early-May since 2001. Hosted at Grand Oak Golf Course, this important fundraising event assists graduating seniors in continuing their education beyond Elder. Registrations include 18 holes of golf with cart and dinner. Shotgun start. Women welcome! To sponsor the event or to register, contact event chairman Frank Panzeca '76 at 513-241-3111 (day) or 513-451-0458 (evening).
  • Alumni Golf Outing

One of our signature events, the Alumni Golf Outing attracts nearly 300 golfers each year to play at Aston Oaks and Hidden Valley golf clubs on the first Friday of June. Sign-ups take place 2-3 months prior, and registration includes greens fees (18 holes with cart), tee gifts, lunch, dinner at Aston Oaks, and refreshments. Format is four-man scramble with prizes awarded. This event sells out in about 30 minutes each year, so don't be caught unawares!
