School Counseling
The mission of the Elder High School School Counseling Department is to impart to students the teachings of Jesus Christ and Archbishop William Henry Elder as well as exemplify in word and deed our school motto, "Altiora," to strive for the higher things. Our school counselors strive to support all students academically, socially, and spiritually to contribute at the highest levels as productive members of society through a partnership comprised of the following people: students, educators, parents, guardians, and the community.
School counselors are professional school advocates who provide support to maximize student potential and academic achievement. All students at Elder High School are provided with personal, academic, career, and college counseling as well as individual and small group counseling opportunities.
Students, parents, and guardians are also provided with separate informational meetings throughout the school year focusing on college application and preparation, college financial aid, and school scheduling procedures.

Transcript Request
Students who are currently enrolled at Elder should request an official Transcript of Credits through their Scoir account or see their School Counselor for assistance.
Graduates and former students of Elder may request an official Transcript of Credits either through Elder's main office or pay online with a credit card. Those who wish to pay by check either in-person or through the mail should instead follow the instructions found on our Transcript Request page.

Items found on a transcript include:
- Grade Point Average (GPA) on a 100 point scale;
- Many schools may ask for a GPA based upon a 4.0 scale. If this is the case, see your School Counselor for that number or reference the GPA Conversion chart found below.
- A list of the classes taken at Elder and the level of the classes taken.
All of these items go into consideration when applications are received by colleges, scholarship committees, and potential employers. This is not to say that college acceptance is based solely on the transcript; factors such as the admissions application itself, essays, interviews, test scores, and qualifications will play a part in the decision of the institution.
Scoir
Scoir is a college guidance management system that streamlines the process of requesting, processing, sending and tracking the electronic delivery of all application-related documents. Scoir (pronounced “score”) also provides parents with useful financial calculators so they can determine the likely cost of attendance at different colleges and consider the affordability when deciding where to apply.
