Timothy Fay Memorial

Timothy Fay, Elder class of 1969, father to Christopher Fay and Erin Fay, earned a B.A. in Sociology at Ohio State University, but had to finish the degree back at home at the University of Cincinnati after a bad accident hospitalized him for an extended period of time.  He was a social worker for over 30 years, starting his career at Beech Acres on Beechmont Rd.  He then worked for Hamilton County Job and Family Services, and finally became a supervisor in Children’s Protective Services. He was an avid golfer and played in a Wednesday evening league for many years.  In 1982, he began working as a coach/manager for Elder Kids Wrestling, a passion of his was working with kids, and being able to do this at his alma mater was a dream come true.  After being diagnosed with colon cancer in 2001, Tim stepped down from the wrestling program.  Despite going into remission twice during his bouts of cancer, Timothy passed away in April of 2008.  One of the larger wrestling meets held at Elder each year is named after him and this scholarship was created in his name.
