David Pavey Memorial
Dave Pavey, Elder Class of 1994, enjoyed his time at Elder, playing on the football team and making friendships that continue with his family to this day, years after his passing. Dave is part of a family with a substantial history with Elder – a long line of graduates, and his mom, Sue Pavey, is a long-time Elder employee. Dave appreciated the connections and opportunities Elder afforded him. He worked his way through college, in particular he enjoyed his part-time job working for an Elder grad which allowed him to be involved with the renovations at Elder in the mid-1990s. He loved driving his Jeep and was devoted to his family, especially his special needs brother. He always had a huge smile on his face and his laugh was infectious. Dave passed away very unexpectedly from a medical issue at the age of 22. His passing was a tremendous shock and his loss was felt by so many, a true testament to his character and the type of person he was. The David Pavey Memorial scholarship was established from the many generous donations received in Dave’s memory, including those raised on the Keeneland bus trips organized by his grade school and high school buddies who have become part of Dave’s family. The David Pavey Memorial scholarship is a tribute to a tremendous young man who left us too soon.
