He was an avid golfer and played in a Wednesday evening league for many years. In 1982, he began working as a coach/manager for Elder Kids Wrestling, a passion of his was working with kids, and being able to do this at his alma mater was a dream come true. After being diagnosed with colon cancer in 2001, Tim stepped down from the wrestling program. Despite going into remission twice during his bouts of cancer, Timothy passed away in April of 2008. One of the larger wrestling meets held at Elder each year is named after him and this scholarship was created in his name.
